Hello, readers!

What we’re reading and doing
TJ: I’ve recently been going through Ray Dalio’s Investment Principles course. I really like how it breaks down very complex market and economic phenomena into clear and crisp first principles.
Peter: I've been reading Leviathan Wakes by James S. A. Corey, the first book in the Expanse series of sci-fi novels. It’s a 6/10 enjoyment level for me. I prefer hard sci-fi like Andy Weir’s books much more.
Justina: A few months ago, I found a copy of The Bloody Chamber and Other Stories by Angela Carter in one of those Little Free Libraries in San Francisco. It’s a collection of short stories inspired by folk tales and fairy tales. Weeks after reading it, I’m still haunted by the eponymous tale. It was just so graphic and horrifying. (I hadn’t previously read “Bluebeard,” the story on which it’s based.) A younger version of me would have found this book riveting, but I’ve outgrown that curiosity for being scandalised. Safe to say I’ll be sticking to the happier endings of Emily Henry stories from now on…
